It has been a rough week, full of downs and even more downs. More sudden realizations of a twisted world both large and immediate than I can bear and so I contemplate. I won’t get into all I contemplate about but this blog is one of the things on my mind as I don’t know what direction to take it.

As a reader I grimace when I can’t find an authors own site. When I read something they’ve written I want to express my gratitude for doing so if I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Finding their name is just linked on wikipedia is heartbreaking as I wonder why they can’t have a site, even to have their contact information or a list of their other books so I know what to add to my wishlist.

As a writer, posting on this blog has given me an outlet for at least 15 minutes a week I dedicate my fingers a different keyboard than a work one and I let them exercise. This is why I want to blog.

And yet there seems to be so many writers out there and fewer readers to be had. I know I’m young, and have a ways to go and many books to publish and have a lot more in me than you can imagine right now but it’s time consuming and I need a main objective. Writing for me is somewhat therapeutic but I want to know people are enjoying the effort I’m putting forth.

Your input is so important to me. A comment here, a share occasionally,  even just a hello but I would love more than anything to know you’re out there when my own belief in me is exhausted.

Please keep reading  – this blog, my books, books by others. A newspaper even.

Smashwords does something amazing each year with their Read an EBook week happening now. Many authors have given up their price to let you experience a new author for free.  For a list of them visit Smashwords and find a new author, a new book or a favourite to read again and let them know you did by reviewing there work or finding their website and let them know. Brain Tales – Volume One is there, feel free to search for it.

Thanks for reading,

Sarah Butland
