Too many times I hear of people saying they can’t do something but I know they can. I surprised myself recently by taking a night shift (until 2AM!!!) at work so I could be home with my son. What a great feeling it is.

Before starting the shift, however, I wondered how I would do. I’m a morning person, always have been and believe, at this point, I might always be. And by that I mean I don’t sleep well during the day, I need to be in bed at night and usually for a long time.

But having a son to wake up to makes every day so magical. The other day a client asked if I was being paid enough to work such late hours. I replied they were because they let me be home with my son and that is almost* payment enough.

*Bills still need to be paid and, for some reason, companies don’t like being paid in the love I have for my son.

So here I am, working until the wee hours of the morning to go home to bed and possibly wake up to feed my son and then do it all again tomorrow – all with a smile on my face, although an exhausted one it’s still bright.

So just when you think you can’t do it, when it’s something impossible or out of your reach, just try it and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Take every day you have with loved ones as a blessing and the world will become a more wonderful place.
