A revived segment of my blog is The Author Takeover, where an invited guest is asked to contribute a blog to my site. This allows my readers to connect with more authors and celebrate the world of literary in a different way. Today, welcome Debbie Boswell as she talks about her love of reading, her parents and, of course, her books. Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter for a special monthly question and answer with her, too!

My name is Debbie Boswell. I’ve written three books, Miriam’s Journey, House of Mirrorsand my latest young adult novel, What Ashley Saw. I don’t write in one particular genre. I can go from a love story to suspense to YA. It’s all about what story needs to be told at the moment. Sometimes, I’ll have stories swimming in my head, each competing to be written! I took a circuitous route into writing.

My love of writing probably came from my love of reading. Thanks to my parents, I was reading before I entered kindergarten. My mother taught me to read, and she and my father constantly bought me books and puzzles. My love for reading grew, and I discovered a passion for writing stories in first grade.

I’ve always wanted to be a writer, but I started working as a tax accountant. In fact, I wrote Miriam’s Journey during tax season! What I love most about writing is my chance to express myself. Writing helps me to heal from past hurts through the protagonist. I hope that my writing helps others to work through their issues as well as entertain and teach.

Please be sure to sign up for my newsletter for the special Q&A.

Thank you, Debbie Boswell, and thank YOU reader, for joining us today. If you’re an author who wants to be featured, please reach out and we’ll schedule your Author Takeover soon!

Happy reading!
Sarah Butland
