Kathy Reichs is an author I’ve grown to love; through her books, Bones – her tv series, and a local appearance. She’s an author I’ve come to greatly respect and look up to.

When deciding which book of hers to buy while seeing her on tour I decided on Cross Bones (Temperance Brennan Novels). If this was the first book I read of hers it may have been the last so I’m thankful it was one of my later reads.

With religion and its possibilities on the forefront the perspectives this novel suggested were intriguing but I found could have been presented in a much clearer way. Twists and turns I’m used to, leaps and bounds I can find difficult to follow especially when dealing with religion.

Although I raced through Cross Bones (Temperance Brennan Novels), eating up every word, I was almost relieved when I was finished because her next most recently published book, 206 Bones: A Novel (Temperance Brennan Novels), was waiting in the next room.

I’ll always be a fan of Kathy Reichs, buying all of her novels, but it’s fair to say not all of her books will make it to my favourites list.

Thank you for reading,
Sarah Butland
