Thinking a lot about being healthier this year? With the most depressing day of the year on the horizon (it’s known to be January 21st) it’s up to each of us to ensure we’re prepared to enjoy the day.

The best way to do that is to laugh.

We all have a different sense of humour but having our funny bone tickled is the best medicine out there. It’s natural, not debated like vaccines are and the only side effect is a worked out belly. Seriousl, laughing works our tummy muscles so why aren’t you laughing now?

Take a look at this video to see if you crack a laugh or LOL as some say:

Laughter yoga is a big thing these days and although a passerby may wonder why so many are randomly laughing most will walk away laughing themselves.

I invite you to laugh right now. Wikipedia says the world’s funniest joke is:

The winning joke, which was later found to be based on a 1951 Goon Show sketch by Spike Milligan,[2] was submitted by Gurpal Gosal of Manchester:

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator says “Calm down. I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence, then a gun shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says “OK, now what?”

Whatever makes you laugh, as long as it’s not at someone else’s expense or even if it is, it’s a moment of pure joy where we forget all the heartache and worries of our lives and just react honestly. Maybe that’s why it’s so healing, it’s honest and empowering as it reflects the most about who we are in a way that’s unique and true.

So get laughing and let others hear it. And share with us what made you laugh today!

Thanks for reading and laughing,
