The government and all the decisions it makes are sensitive as they concern so many people trying to find their own way. Although we essentially vote for who is in charge of our local riding and the Prime Minister is voted in by the majority parties nation wide in Canada, it doesn’t take long for residents to feel the wrong person was put in power.

With Harper in government and with a majority there has been many complaints in my circles about what he’s doing to our country. Today with bill C-38 was approved 159-0, a few days ago they took funding away from a major publishing company in Canada (although they changed their mind and reversed the decision), took major funding away from Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), and made a controversial decision making it harder for seasonal workers to claim EI every “off” season.

Harper has been busy and has definitely been the topic of discussion throughout Canada but what I wonder is why the Robo-Calls that made headlines a few months ago haven’t been talked about more. Seven ridings thus far have been proven to been called by someone within the Conservative party to mis-direct and confuse voters, possibly resulting in a different outcome than what we see today.

No matter what party you support, what you believe in as far as value within Canada and where you work, we are Canadian and should be respected for our vote and justice should be found from the very beginning of our political system.

I am not sure who should be in office but I do feel Canadian citizens should be heard in every aspect of change regarding our own country and having one person in power to decide for us is terrifying.

What do you think?
